Making space to create. | Day 281

In the fast-paced world of entrepreneurship and innovation, it's easy to get swept up in a whirlwind of busyness.

I'm no different. I've just returned from an intense 2-month stint of non-stop travel, speaking engagements, and honing my skills as a speaker. So, believe me, I get it.

πŸ‘‰ Here's a few fun recap summaries of my time at SXSW, ViVE, FAMILY INC, & HEROIC.

But here's the thing - with all these interruptions, how on earth are we supposed to get any real work done? The simple truth is, it's a major challenge.

As individuals driving our own paths, the way we choose to spend our time is absolutely crucial. It defines us in many ways.

Think about it. At any given moment, we can fall into one of four categories:

🌟 The Creator: These are the trailblazers, the dreamers, the ones who breathe life into fresh ideas. Their mission? To build and inspire.

πŸ›οΈ The Consumer: They thrive on exploring and reaping the benefits of others' creations, seeking value and quality in their experiences.

πŸ‘€ The Voyeur: The curious learners who observe, absorb, and gain insights from the creations and interactions of others, often contributing valuable feedback and perspective.

🚫 The Detractor: The challengers, the critics, those who offer a different viewpoint and foster constructive debate by questioning or opposing creations.

Let's face it, it's tempting to slip into the latter three roles and get sidetracked. But to create - now that's tough. It demands effort and unwavering commitment.

If you're an innovator or an entrepreneur, it's absolutely critical to carve out dedicated time and space for creation. That's what sets the good apart from the great, the successful from the perpetually aspirational.

So, here's my plan: I've cleared a significant block of time over the next few weeks to continue creating and building remarkable things that people are eager to buy.

Now, let me ask you this:

Which type of person are you in this moment? And, more importantly, what will it take for you to reclaim your role as the creator that you are?
